Want to assemble the ultimate wedding day emergency kit? Here’s exactly what you need to pack in your wedding bag for the big day, making sure you’ll be prepared for anything that goes awry. From safety pins to travel flats, there’s something here for every little “oops” that can occur so you can fix it swiftly.
Be prepared for anything with these wedding day essentials.
Great for fixing snags on pantyhose! Clear nail polish is also helpful to have in your wedding bag if your ring irritates your skin. Paint a little polish on the band and it will prevent skin irritation (i.e. rubbing, itching, etc.)
Get one that dries super-fast, like this.
Mini flossers are great to throw in your bag just in case you need them. Get them here.
Bring along a travel-sized toothbrush and toothpaste in your wedding day bag. You’ll want to brush your teeth after dinner. Get a mini kit here.
Add a small travel-sized hairspray to your bag to tame any fly-aways in your hairstyle, or to keep that updo staying upright. :) This one is great – it’s luminous and has no stickiness. Get it here.
Safety pins are great to have in case of any rips or tears, particularly with your bustle.
Bobby pins are a must-have item in your wedding day bag: you’ll want to add them to your hairstyle if it starts to fall out of place, or you need to secure your veil / bridal hair accessory.
Make sure you get the kind that are slide-proof, like these. They make a big difference on your wedding day.
Antacids are important to pack in the bag. I would also add stomach medicine.
Don’t let a headache ruin your wedding day! Pack plenty of pain reliever for yourself and your bridesmaids, just in case.
No wardrobe mishaps here! Bring fashion tape to keep any oopsies from happening. :)
This one is great at keeping clothing in place, based on reviews. Only $12.99 here.
A small sewing kit is great to have on hand. You can get a travel-sized one here, complete with those little scissors that come in handy for threads and countless other things.
You’ll want to buy a large bag of these travel-sized makeup remover wipes. They are my go-to: the best at getting rid of stubborn mascara and lipstick. Put some of them in your bag and add some to your bridesmaids’ bags, too. You’ll need them in case of mascara runs, makeup mishaps, lipstick fixes, and so much more.
Bring along your favorite, most trusted mascara.
Bring a favorite lipstick, the one you’ll be wearing on your wedding day. This is helpful to have for touch-ups throughout the day.
Bring at least two bandages. You’ll be happy to have them if the backs of your feet start to rub inside your heels. In addition, they’re great to have for any minor first aid fixes.
PRO TIP: Put these in your shoes before the wedding and you won’t have to worry about rubbing on the backs of your feet.
You want to smell your best! Wedding days can get sweaty, so bring along your favorite deodorant with you for re-applications throughout the day. This one has rave reviews and is aluminium-free and natural.
A pair of tweezers is always helpful to have.
Bring breath mints! You’ll want to ensure your breath smells great all day long.
A hair tie because you never want to be without one. I never leave home without one, ha! There’s nothing quite like NOT having one when you need it.
Pack a stain remover wipe or pen like this in your wedding emergency kit so you’re not wearing what you had for dinner. That white dress really shows off anything, doesn’t it?!
And last but not least, a pair of travel flats! Make sure they’re comfortable. You’ll be so happy to have these in your bag when your feet start to hurt during the reception. My favorite are these by Cinderollies. I have a pair and they’re amazing… like walking on a cloud! Affordable, too! Get them here.
If you want a sturdy pair that’s more of a solid shoe, go with Tieks. They fold flat and are super comfy. They have a bunch of colors – including white! Here’s one pair in pink:
I have a pair and love ’em!
And there you have it: the best most important items to pack in your wedding day bag.
In a larger tote bag that stays in your bridal suite, also bring:
• Phone charger
• Phone
• ID
• Cash or Credit Card
• Fabric steamer to fix any wrinkles on your dress (and bridal party dresses) before the ceremony
• Dress weights (if you’re getting married where it’s windy)
• Heel Guards (for Outdoor Weddings)
These keep your high heels from sinking into grass and dirt. Brilliant! By GoGoHeel.
As you can see, it’s important to be prepared and stocked up with these important items in your wedding emergency kit. It’s easy to make a wedding day bag yourself and have it ready-to-go at anytime while planning your wedding. It is best to plan early and not wait until the last minute to find these items, simply because it’s something that gets forgotten more often than people think. If you plan ahead, you’ll likely not need all the items packed in your wedding bag, but you’ll be glad to have them just in case.
If you don’t want to spend time packing these items, you can buy ready-made wedding day emergency kits, like the two options shown below.
Now that you know what to pack in your wedding bag, did I miss anything you would add? Which of these items is something you would have forgotten? Tell me in the comment box below!
